Philosophy
Samsara is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning the cycle of birth and rebirth. The cycle of Samsara is one of evolving through learning and knowledge, where life is a journey of discovery. At Spa Samsara we have drawn inspiration from the eastern tradition of healing which incorporates tranquility, therapy and spirituality; where treatments are based on the fundamental principle of a life force which flows through the body Prana, Chi, Ki. A balance of body, mind, emotions, spirit and community is essential to achieving and maintaining a harmonious flow of this life force.

Our logo is the lotus within the lotus signifying the many levels of being Physical of the body, Emotional of the heart, Cognitive of the mind, Spiritual of the soul, Connective of the community. It has been inspired from an ancient 17th Century Tibetan mandala where it appears at the heart of the painting, directing the Soul through the eye to meditate and connect with the Divine. The lotus in Eastern culture is an emblem of purity as it rises above the muddy and murky waters of its birth representing the Soul rising from the confusion of matter into the clarity of enlightenment; an inspiration of beauty and resilience. The red circle in the middle represents the cycle of Samsara and the triangle in the very centre is a symbol of female energy 'Shakti' as described in the ancient Vedic tradition. The colours are red, white and brown: red is the colour of life, celebration and joy; white embodies the ageless nature of Spirit, purity and sanctity; and brown for the colour of our Mother Earth.
